MEET THE PASTORS

NICO REIS

Nico was born into a Pentecostal family.

From an early age, he witnessed his parents deep hunger for God - a hunger that soon became his own.
At the age of 13, he was filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. That encounter marked the beginning of a personal and growing relationship with God.

When he was 18 years old, while walking one morning through the Helsinki railway station on his way to upper secondary school, he cried out to God in his heart: "God, there has to be more for my life. I want my life to be an adventure."
God answered that prayer. Just over a year later, Nico found himself on his way to the United States to attend the River Bible Institute (now River University). He completed two years of studies there, and during his third year he served as an intern in Istubal, Turkey. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Theology.
After Bible school, Nico has served in the River Church Finland and Kemi Pentecostal Church.

Along the journey, he met and married his beautiful wife, Noomi. Together they are raising their two wonderful children, Milena and Oliver.

NOOMI REIS

Noomi was born into a Christian family, but her early years were marked by deep struggles. She knew about God, yet she did not truly know Him personally, and often felt alone in her faith.

At one of her lowest moments, she stood on a bridge, on the brink of ending her life. In that moment, she heard the words, “I am the resurrection and the life.” She could not jump. That encounter changed everything.

At the age of 15, she was filled with the Holy Spirit at a youth camp. Although she expected immediate transformation, God continued to shape her heart through the seasons that followed. For a time, she found herself living between two worlds. One day, alone in the woods, she cried out, “God, if You are real, help me—make Yourself real to me.”
He answered.

In 2014, during a summer in Rovaniemi, she attended a meeting where God touched her life in a radical way. Shortly after, with just 300 euros, a trekking backpack, and a suitcase, she moved to Helsinki to study at River Bible Institute Finland, where she graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Theology.

After graduating, Noomi continued serving in River Church Finland’s children’s ministry and worked at the RBI office. She married Nico 2018 and together they have two beatiful children Milena and Oliver.

Noomi carries a deep heart for the lost and has a unique ability to see beauty and potential in every person. She is also the host of the podcast Iloinen.

This is just the beginning.
